Bookish Thursday: Socks from the Toe Up.. is the universe trying to tell me something?

I read Wendy Knits blog. So when she started talking about working on a sock book, I certainly wasn’t surprised.  She has to be one of THE most prolific sock knitters out there.. aside from the Queen.. yes.. the Yarn Harlot. But I digress.

Wendy has a new book out and man.. it even makes me want to knit socks.. a little.. ok.. at least without someone paying me to do it..

 Socks from the Toe Up is chock full of techniques for making pretty much any style of  toe up sock you would want to make.  There is a collection of cast ons which covers every type of toe up cast on that has been invented so far!  Ditto that on on the bind offs! Heels? She’s got em! Again every type out there is collected and put in this book. How to knit those socks? DPN’s?, two circular needles?, magic loop? It’s in there! This really is an essential guide for knitting toe up socks..

Then there are the patterns…over 20 eye catching patterns that should suite any sock knitters needs. Lace, cables Texture from beginner patterns to more advanced there is enough here to keep anyone busy.

I am hoping to get started on  a pair of ‘Dead Simple Lace Socks’.  Perhaps I will get through that bin of sock yarn after all..
