It’s a bird, it’s a plane!

Faster than a running toddler. More powerful than a locomotive. Able to handle tall heaps of laundry in a single bound. Look! Up in the sky. It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Supergrandma!
Yes, it’s Supergrandma – strange visitor from Pennsylvania who came to our house with powers and abilities far beyond those of two very sick parents. Supergrandma – who can change the diapers of mighty quirmy babies, bend pipe cleaners into doggies with her bare hands, and who disguised as Janet, a theraputic support aide for a small school district, fights a neverending battle for Truth, Justice, and the American Way.

(And she knits too!)

Cables and lace too!

Yep. Monday evening we were hit with round 4, 5 and 6! First Jaxom, then me and then Brian! All three of us were up all night taking turns being sick! The problem with big families is that it means BIG time trouble when Mom and Dad BOTH get sick at the same time. We had to call in reinforcements! We waited till the decent hour of 8am and called. Without hesitation my Mother in law came out to help! (a 2 1/2 hour drive!)

And just in time! Brian was zonked out after our being up all night and I was fading but couldn’t fall asleep because EVERY joint in my body hurt!
She sent me off to bed and within an hour of being here I had a kitchen! Wow! Who knew there was a kitchen in that space!

Needless to say, the amazing monkey arm sweater has not been seamed. I didn’t even have enough energy to put the pattern in an attatchment to Isela and send it off.
No knitting got done on my part. But I did manage to give Azia a little knitting with needles lesson and she picked it up like a pro! She must have her great great grandmother’s genes!

nice work!

Well perhaps tommorow I will be up and about and knitting again! I have some great plans for my Noro yarn! Just wait!

  1. Aren’t mom’s just great. I love it when my mom comes and visits with me, she can do everything in half the time and tons better than I can. I am glad your mom came to help you out. I hope all of you get feeling better soon :). Hugs to all.

:razz:Thank you grandma Janet for saving the day! What would the world do without grandmas like you? Your family is lucky to have you!

  3. Awww 🙁 I’m sorry you’re all feeling so under the weather 🙁 I hope everyone gets well soon and is up and running and enjoying the sunshine!

I love the name Azia! And she’s such a pretty little girl! Those are the same needles that I got for my daughter to learn to knit with. I think I tried it out while she is too young. She is only 4 years old. She likes to play with them anyway, and I figure as long as she’s getting the hang of something, it will get us somewhere in a few years 🙂 Go Azia! Knit pretty! 🙂

  4. I hope you’re all feeling better! How great of your MIL to come running to help like that. And, say, with a name like Jaxom . . . you wouldn’t have an Anne McCaffrey fan in your family, would you?? (grin)
