I really need to knit something for the the mail carrier..

She has brought me some nice stuff!(and she is really nice)

I got some cute fishy stitch markers from Jennifer as a thank you for participatin in a contest at Cast on Cast off.

Then I got yarn from Erin over at Pumpkin Knits for her T shirt contest.
And to top it all off I got these pretty stitch markers from Tori’s contest at Knitting, Dogs and More
oooh ahhh.

What fun!

I am using the Silk Garden I won (some time ago) to make a silk garden beanie. It is slowly turning me into a fiber snob.. I am so liking Noro yarn, and cotton yarn and you already know I like alpaca.

But mix it with silk and OI! It is nice. I am of the mind to donate the hat to a charity auction that we are having at our church. My little soap sacks got rejected from the health kits they are putting together so those will be sent out another way through the Cloths for Katrina Group.

I have made one square for the Diva knitting challenge and a second one is almost done, but I am having a little trouble as they are in acrylic and I can’t stand the feel of it!! YIKES! That silk content in the silk garden has spoiled me that soft cotton that I have been making the little soap sacks with has ruined any chance for me enjoying making those squares.. I dunno what to do! The squares have to be washable.. so I will trudge on. Mabye only make a couple.. and then back to cloths.. perhaps even make a pair of socks with the yarn from PumpkinMama and donate it to the auction… I can always bid on them myself.

  1. If the acrylic is really awful, you can always send silk instead 🙂 I’m not opposed to handwashing it if I have to! 😉

  2. Are those dragonflies? Oi, I love dragonflies…the picture is not close-up enough, but I love them from here.

I hear ya about the acrylic yarn, a year ago, I would not have known any different, but now, I have become a yarn snob.

  3. I have that VERY SAME Cotton Colori and plan to use it for a T-shirt!! (I bought it for socks, not realizing thatcotton socks would be a bad idea…) It’s so pretty!
