Sending the Knuggles to Rhineback

Well, I can’t make it to Rhineback. The fact is the kids are all coming down with coughs so it probably would not have been a pleasant experience anyway.. But my lovely Mother has volunteered to go. So I promised her I would give her a little direction as to where to go and what to get..

I would have to say that your first stop would have to be the Spirit Trail Fibers tents. Stephanie will be there at 11 am, signing her books! Yes my dear Mother you can meet the Yarn Harlot I so fondly speak of. Perhaps even get a glimmer of her humour and wit. And a copy of her second book (signed for me?) The Secret Life of a Knitter. I have a signed copy of her first book so I might as well have a matching set, right? Just tell her it’s for me. Mention my blog by name and she will say oh yes! I know her!
Well strike that. It looks like she will not be there after all. Some things are indeed, more important. But if she does show up. Just give her a big hug.

And while you are there just touch all those lovely silks and silk blends for me will you? Oh and if you see something you like do pick it up I will be glad to knit something for you. Or hey, just ask what’s good.

Now there are a few faces you should be on the look out for. If you see any of these people, please do tell them I said hello. (Sorry Franklin will be there and gone on Saturday so there isn’t any chance of running into him)
That's Major Knitter (Jennifer), Nipper, and Justine
Another worth while stop (not that there are any booths that are unworthy, just looking at the list makes one’s head whirl) is the Finger Lakes Yarn booth. Dawn Brocco should be there. I love her designs. And she is darn nice too.. she is in the Yahoo Knit Design group. So any of that ‘Un Spun’ would be nice.. Or any of the kits look excellent.

Morehouse Merino Farms is a must. They have coupons for the show at their website. Just click here So see you can save money! The kids really like the snake scarves! (yes even Azia)

Seriously.. I don’t really need any more yarn (what was that noise.. was it Brian hitting the floor across town in his office?) but I could use a set of size 6, 32″ Addi Turbo circulars so I can make this:

With all that nice fingering weight alpaca you bought me!
And Perhaps a set of 2, 24″ size 11 circulars (or a set of DPN’s) so I can make some more felted stuff like slippers and bags and such with some that wool you got me! Or hey any other interesting looking accsesories! (cough yarn swift coughspining wheel cough nice spindle set cough)
Like 5 interesting buttons for this:(mine will be in brown)

Oh and Azia could use a pair of size 5 straight needles in wood or bamboo so she can knit some animals from her new book, some worsted weight (at least 100 yards)yarn would be cool too. (horse colours?)
Oh and don’t forget an umbrella. I hear it is going to rain.

And bloggers.. if you see this woman,

Well you know what to do!

  1. Pooor lady, tell her to bring a shopping cart with her too, lol. Maybe next year I’ll make it out–Sam won’t have school :). Maybe we could both go.

Close! The first sound was my eyes popping wide open (even before I read the next sentence) and that next jumble of noises was me searching through the drawers here for a camera so that I could take a picture of the screen before you edit out what you said!
