Forget Cow Tipping!

It’s Halloween, so our thoughts turn to pranksters and practical jokes and all that sort of fun. It takes me back to the days when I was a brand new freshman at college.
You know back when you are getting to know people, and starting to form that band of people who will become your friends for life!

Well, I had a crush on this guy Dan. And so I hung out with the group of people he did, and he, being a city boy from Boston, decided that he wanted to try out cow tipping. So the group of us started trapsing around under cover of darkness to find some cows.

You all know the mythe.. cows sleep standing up, and you come along and if you have enough people you can just tip one over and leave it stunned and flailing on the ground.
Well as luck would have it, there were no cows out that night. I should say any self respecting farmer with his farm within walking distance of a college would keep his cows safely locked up in the barn at night. So the evening didn’t end with any flailing suprised cows, or more likely us getting chased around the field by and angry one.
And also I figured out that Dan was not for me.

Fast forward. Yesterday, Brian wasn’t feeling well so I took him home while the kids were in Sunday school. The back way home from church has a few atvantages. Less traffic, less stop lights/signs and last but not least there are no less than three alpaca farms along the route.
I was touting the atvantages of this particular short cut with Brian and he looked at the first group of alpaca we passed and said “They are all shaved! Oh, is that that buzzing sound I heard late last night.. you were out here shaving those llammas!”
At which point I got one of those evil, wonderful, grinch grins on my face.. “yeah, forget cow tipping man.. ”
