Presents and Potpurri

Well as Brian said in his comments gave some presents on his birthday!

First off he got me my own URL!! I now own KnitChat.com
I am not sure what exactly it will develop into but I have been looking for a short but sweet URL for a while and that one seems to be a pretty good one!
Who knows. Maybe a forum, definitely a gallery of work, a page of free patterns, and probably a pattern shop for new ones! The blog is already there so if you want you can switch my links.
I am going to need some graphics to match this new site! So look out I think I might have a contest or if anyone wants to volunteer hey speak up!

He continued his gift giving when he got home…
He came home with a little brown bag that was shaking.
There was something alive in that there bag!

I thought it was the lizards he had said we would get in lieu of a cat. But it wasn’t!

It turns out he went over to the library to renew some books and poke around and there was a girl there with some dwarf hamsters. She was there to meet someone who was going to take a few of them but that person didn’t show. So Brian took two.

We have worries now that we will have more. Yep it looks like one is a girl and one is a boy. Time will tell. I can’t manage to get a good picture of them, but they are awfully cute!

So then we had our little celebration!
The kids had whipped up a yummy cake.

And they gave him his present!

Yeah they picked it.
There was a great deal of earsplitting laughter as everyone took turns rearranging Darth Tater’s face.
Darth Tater will go in to the office with him to be among his other toys and probably get rearranged a few times!

I have started writing up the finger knitting tutorial and need to get some good light and a photography assistant to get it finished. Perhaps I will pop that up on the new site!

I started playing around with making bobbles on the Knifty Knitter Board. It looks ok. They look more like boobles!!

I also have a mitten in progress, but the intended recipient won’t try it on so I am at a standstill. 😐

I am plugging away at the squares for the Christmas toys I don’t think I will have them all done to get shipped back in the suitcase with Mom and Dad but hopefully I will have a few of them done.. I guess it might be better to ship them all at once..

Over at Blue Blog Allison and her boys did some fun KoolAid Dyeing. It looks like a blast and looks like a great holiday science project for the kids!!
Perhaps we will have to get some of that dye it yourself yarn from KnitPicks and have some fun!
Think I could dye enough to make one of these from Scarf Style?

I know there are kits out there for it somewhere, but I can’t find em!

Edited to add:
Oops forgot the title!
And UPS just dropped off a package with all my original submissions from the booklet! It’s kinda fun to see the comments and pictures they took of the items. And hey! Now I have three more items to add to the church craft auction!

  1. I think that present is super cool 😛
The bobbles are easy to do on a rake or round loom.
Can’t wait to see your new site.

  2. I would love to participate in the contest for your site graphics,
