Unidentified Stitch Pattern

Can you help me identify this stitch pattern?

The site I found it on identified it as a reversable shingle stitch.

Help!

Sorry the picture is small..but that is as big as it gets! (Editor’s note: Click on it to get a better look – b)

It is a stitch generally used in knitting rugs apparantly.

Well leave a comment if you think you can help!

And keep watching over at Purls of Hope there is another person who is volunteering she left her address in the comments and since she is reccomended by someone I know I say go for it and send her a kit if you have one ready!

My 1960’s era Mon Tricot Stitch Dictionary identifies it as “Waffle Stitch.” I have used it in scarf and sweater yoke designs.
How do you plan to use it?

  2. Hi! Sorry, I can’t help with the stitch pattern, but I wanted to say thank you for the cute e-card…for some reason I didn’t get it until today. But THANK YOU! It was so cute! have a great day!

Except if you Google “waffle stitch” and ignore the crochet ones, you retrieve a variety of different stitches!! The one in the Mon Tricot Stitch Dictionary is this one: http://tinyurl.com/8zw3e

  5. Hi there

Ok – you could try the waffle rib:

    Row 1 (RS): Knit
    Row 2: Purl
    Row 3 & 5: *K2, p3*; repeat to end
    Row 4 & 6: *K3, p2*; repeatt to end
    Repeat 1-6

There are several basketweave patterns (from simple to pie-crust) you could choose too… Try looking in the Vogue Stitchonary or the Knitting Stitch A-Day Calendar…

    Hope that helped!

Some vandle came and edited the post so that the picture could be zoomed in a little bit, but I’m not sure it is any clearer…
