I am resisting turning up the thermostat. It’s cold in here today! I remember vaguely learning about lake effect snow in one of my geography classes. But when you actually live it, it is bewildering! One minute you look out the window and it’s clear, no snow, then five minutes later there is like 3 inches of snow on the ground.
We are lucky we are usually just outside of the lake effect snow range, but once in a while it hits us! Last night it hit, but not too bad.
We have some weather proofing stuff and we need to get it up!
I got a package from my new secret pal!
There are some chocolate rasberry truffles missing from the picture.
No they are not all gone! .. Yet…
There are a few cute patterns in the Knitter’s magazine. I will have to try them out. Put them on the long list!(which keeps getting longer!)
I finished the main part of my draft catcher for my Purls of Hope care kit that I will be sending out. It’s not bad. The pennies in the duct tape work really well to keep it weighed down so it will stay put. I think I need to make a few for around the house!
I need to make the cords to cinch up the ends and that will be done.
I was bad… don’t tell Brian. I went and bought the Knitters Book of Finishing Techniques.
It was a pretty good price and I won a bidding war that broke out at the end of the auction still getting it at a good price.
That about does it for my knitting book library for now. I have enough technique books to make just about anything I would want.
Of course someone around here wants a sweater that looks like this:
This is a little above my skill right now but I believe more doable than lace! I just don’t do lace!
Oh well.
We shall see. I also got a little booklet with some patterns I can practice with!
