Turtleneck Shrug from Scarf Style

Pattern by Teva Durham

Yarn:Jaeger Shetland Aran

        80% Wool, 20% alpaca

(bought from Janette’s Rare yarns via gift certificate from Isela, Thanks Isela!)

Pattern notes: This pattern is so nice and easy to follow. I used my Clover bamboo #7 DPN’s for pretty much the whole project. I switched to a circular needle at the shoulders but back to the DPN’s for the neck!

I got 4 balls of the yarn and I have a good bit left of the last ball. Perhaps a matching Panta or a fun loomed hat?

I love the no seam deal! That works for me!

And it goes great with my green striped sweater don’t you think?

Now about that peice am working on in the picture.

Isela will recognise the Cleckheaton she sent me. I like it. So I decided to make a little sweater for Julian (and eventually Caleb)

I was going to try a cardigan with a slip stitch design. So what you see in the picture is what i worked on for the back.

Then after some advice on Knitter’s Review, I decided I did not have enough yarn to make it with the slip stitch. So I think I will switch to making a vest with a slip stitch pattern on the front.

Now….

do I try it on the needles, or on the loom? I really should do it on the loom and work up a pattern for it. I could use another pattern out there supporting my yarn habit the cost of this site and the Purls of Hope site. It would be a nice quick knit on the loom and no one has really tackled colour work or that sort in any patterns available.

So I think that it is coming off the needles, and going onto the loom.

Now.. do I knit it in the round or flat? oooh if it is a slip stitch pattern it will have to be flat!

decisions decisions!

And I want to get this done and out of the way in time for the start of the knitting olympics in 11 days!

Think I will make up my mind by then?

  1. I think the shrug looks so good on you!

  2. Looks good :). I tried leaving a comment last night, but it wouldn’t work, glad you fixed it.
