Back to knitting!

Well I started on the vest the other night.

Here it is…

Oh it isn’t a vest? oops.

It became clear that I wasn’t going to make the vest with the amout of yarn I had so I started decreasing and made it into a hat.

Brian likes it, and it was good practice for cables.. which as it turns out.. seem to be my thing!

I seem to be favouring textured knits rather than lace type knitting. So I think I will stick with it for now and see where it goes.

I sure to feel more confident that I can make a nice aran sweater for Brian now though. Just waiting on that yarn I won & purchaced from Jannette, and the right pattern to go with it!

I am also working on a textured hat on my green Knifty Knitter, look for a pattern soon, I might do a hat scarf combo..

Here is a sneak peek..

Well not much of a sneak peek. Sorry, That yarn just does not show the texture. But as a test i do see that the pattern works. So it works for me. I will make another sample in a different colour, and I think this yarn will become a vest! Silly how that all worked out!

Keep watching for that pattern and more. I am thinking of working on sets of textured patterns for the looms that can be applied to different items like hats and scarves and such. And look for a skirt pattern on the new Knifty Knitter boards!

I hear through the grapvine that Create For Less is having a sale, or at least a good price on the Knifty Knitters, and that hard to come by Purple rake loom (see page 4 of weekly specials!)so I thought I would pop in a link for anyone who is interested.

Only a few more weeks till my booklet is out!

I can’t wait!

And who knew.. mabye not finishing the kitchen floor is not so bad. That cement leveler makes for some great entertainment when paired with some chalk!

I am all about chalk on the floor of the kitchen, my parents have great art on their subfloors from my niece, you can’t see it but we know it’s there.
I am looking for some help with some charity knitting, especially a blanket for a teacher with cancer, if you know anyone who might be able to help out please send them my way.

Oh yeah, great hat, i must get around to trying cables one day

  2. Alright–and what is wrong with DA’s price of $6.50 on their Purple KK? It is a bargain…not to mention it gets packaged by yours truly, hehehe.
