OK, I’ve made a bunch more improvements to the blog.They are all in the left hand column over there…First, there’s list of your shipmates, all the folk who are viewing the blog RIGHT NOW. you can see them in detail by clicking in on the link over there. I’ve integrated something called IP2Country so that the country of the person shows up. It’s kinda addicting to see who is on line… All you skallywags from Mexico and Greece and elsewhere (Welcome!)Also take a look at the Ships in the Fleet for a list of bloggers that have left comments here. (If you see any abuse of this slipping through, let us know!).

Speaking of comments, you can now view them inline at the end of each post with out leaving the page. It’s done using something called AJAX that can show and hide sections of a page without reloading the entire page over again. Just click on the preview comments link. Hmmm Geeky yet satisfying…

And since we are now getting more and more visitors and commentors going back to older posts, I added a “Recent Comments” so you can see what yarns your shipmates are spinning now…

Oh, what else.. Two more things that you’d be interested in… First, I’ve turned on the ability to register for the blog. Right now all that will do is allow WordPress to fill in your comment fields automatically, but soon I expect to be adding more features to the blog that members will benifit from.

One of those features is that the blog will be able to log you into the new KnitChat.com Chat room with one click (I hope). That’s right, there is a live chat feature built into the blog now too. Feel free to check it out and hang around in there for a while to see if anyone else shows up. I expect Denise will be holding scheduled chats soon. We’ll see how that goes!

Hmmm I think that’s it. I’ve added some behind the scenes stuff that will help search engines and Technorati find the blog easier but you all won’t care about that… I’ve already told you about the Gravatars to give your comments a face on this and all the other knitting blogs…. Yep. That’s about it! Time for bed!
