Finished Friday: Empty Knit Bag Syndrome?

I have that itchy twitchy feeling that I get whenever I have just finished a knitting project. That aimless need to do something; a feeling that usually ends with me pulling down wallpaper, or pulling up carpet, or repainting something.

Childhood from Knitty

I finished the baby sweater, and have promised the boys I would undertake the project of turning this storage room into their toy club. (or in any case it just needs a good cleaning!)

 storage room

My hope being that we could have a dedicated area to play. A place to house and use the toys. Where they could be out of the main area of the house and school room while they played, and hopefully enforce the idea that the school room is for school!

I have everything I need to do this. The paint, the carpet, the masonry paint to seal the nasty cement block wall. Now I even have some extra boxes to re-box some of the items stored there, thanks to the recent influx of school material shipments.

The problem is the entryway has been calling. It’s bare walls stripped of wall paper so long ago that I am hesitant to even mention it. It really needs at least a layer of primer.

And so here I am in  this interim, between knitting projects I fall ever so deeply into the quagmire of indecisiveness.  A hallmark of my ADD mind.  I think I have empty knitting bag syndrome.. I can’t imagine what will happen when I have an empty ‘nest’!

  1. Very cool baby sweater! Now I need a baby so you can make one for him/her ; )
I vote for the play room.

  2. I love how your sweater turned out! 🙂 Shepherd will be so stylish.

Your storeroom looks like my garage right now…desperately need to go out there and give it a total overhaul!! Since we moved every thing extra just sort of got dumped out there…yikes! 😛

But how fun that your kids will have a great play room when yours is done… they’ll love it!
