Progress Report from Sleeve Island!

Well you saw the other sweater on Sharon ( I should have titled that post ‘Pin Up Model’) Perhaps I should rename her Sugar.  (Whoever can guess that reference?)

In any case. I have one sleeve finished for Brian’s sweater

The other one is started and will move beyond the cuff tonight.

I need a break from the sample sock knitting!

  1. Hi Denise,

It’s your lucky day – you won my blog contest!!! I got 998 from the Random Number Generator, and with 999, you had the closest number!

Please email me with your address, and I’ll put the gift in the mail to you this week. : )

  2. I got the “Sugar” reference, when my Wings aren’t playing on thursday night, Sugar is where I am. She’s so funny, and sooooo good at playing a ditz, but… very smart. Hope she wins!

Denise, reading about Sharon and seeing Brian’s sleeve bring up two questions for me. Do you always use the mattress stitch when putting your items together? If so, I’m guessing Sharon really helps accomplish this. Does she? Any recommendations if we don’t have a Sharon of our own? A pressing ham maybe?

I’m putting together a little sweater that I thought might be for my little nephew but I’m really not happy with it. The pattern helped me hone my skills in picking up stitches for the neck and sleeves.

The mattress technique is a little new to me but I really like the results. I did try it on the very first sweater I made for him but wasn’t as successful with the technique on this sweater.

    Thanks,

    Debbie

    I know!
Sugar is one of the remaining contestants on this season’s Survivor – Gabon. She’s the cutie pie blond “pin-up model” sweetie who actually has the Immunity idol.

Say – are you still considering giving this a go????
