It Could Have Been Worse….

Tonight was my public debut as children’s bell choir director of our church. We played outside in the beautiful new gazebo right in town square.

It was 19 F out…

It could have been colder…

The kids started a snowball fight with the pastor on the lawn in front of the gazebo before we were supposed to go on and got covered with snow..

But it could have been that none of them showed up…

They were late starting so everyone was super cold…

But it could have taken longer…

The tape player was giving fits delaying us further..

But it could have been they didn’t have one.. or it didn’t work at all..

Half the kids deserted because of the cold..

It could have been all of them…

One of the boys passed out and collapsed in the middle of a song!!!*

The CD player wouldn’t start because it was too cold and I couldn’t go back to the middle of the song we had to stop because there is just no way to do it with the system we use..

I had to wear fingerless gloves and my thumbs and fingers were turning into icicles..

BUT………It could have been worse…

Yes.. it could have..

Really?

Really really..

It could have been that Jesus was never born and we didn’t have anything to celebrate… or hope for..

Yes.. it could have been worse……

*apparently he has been having narcoleptic episodes lately.. but he didn’t get hurt and got right back up.. so he’s ok!
