I picked up the skill of crochet last year, when I took a crochet class. It was nice to get out of the house on a weekly basis and go play with yarn with my wonderful teacher Rochelle. I enjoyed finally learning how to crochet and moved quickly from her basic crochet sessions into the intermediate and beyond. It helped that I was the only one in the class I think.. and, that after I had someone right there to tell me as I was trying it what I was doing right and wrong.. everything just clicked!!
Crochet is definitely a skill I encourage loom knitters to acquire, as looms also have a bit of a crochet quality about them. You can do a little crossover crochet and knitting on the looms..

This would make such a cool blanket! It would look great in just two colors.. alternating black and white… Great stash buster.. hmm… I have some stash to bust!
